OLAF Koszela can be an effective replacement for the departed Tom Blair, according to Dorchester boss Leigh Robinson.

Koszela joined the Magpies last week on a one-month loan from current Vanarama National League leaders Torquay United.

The striker has returned the faith shown in him by netting twice in three games – including the winner in a 2-1 victory over Gosport Borough on Saturday.

With talisman Blair having been sold to Eastleigh, Robinson feels Koszela’s performances have indicated he can fill the void.

Speaking to BBC Solent Sport, he said: “Olaf’s come in and had a real good effect and sort of replaced what we might have lost with Tom.

“Tom’s a real good carrier of the ball, goes past people and Olaf’s pretty similar to that.

“It’s quite a nice like-for-like replacement and he was very good on Tuesday night at Taunton as well.

“He’s showed some really good signs and hopefully there will be more to come from him whenever we come back.”

While confirmation is awaited, Dorchester are expected to go without a game until after lockdown, with non-elite sport set to be restricted by the government’s latest announcement.

The Magpies were due to play Truro on Tuesday night until the White Tigers saw their FA Trophy tie with Taunton rearranged for the same evening.
