WEYMOUTH manager Brian Stock heaped praise on the returning Cameron Murray for his impact during the 4-3 loss to Torquay United.

Murray, making his first start since shaking off a concussion problem, was at his industrious best as he caused the Gulls serious problems.

Weymouth profited from the midfielder’s jinking runs – one of which culminated in the Terras’ second goal when Murray nutmegged Gulls’ keeper Shaun MacDonald.

Stock did not restrict plaudits to Murray – picking out a number of players for their performances against the Vanarama National League leaders.

“I thought he was excellent,” Stock said of Murray.

“His work rate, closing down, creativity – it’s something the team does benefit from.

“I wouldn’t like to single out Cam, there were tremendous performances.

“I’ve asked a lot from Josh McQuoid and Cody (Cooke) over the last couple of games.

“Calvin Brooks as well, Jake McCarthy (both playing centre-back) – they’ve given everything. We have to remember that, dust ourselves down and go again.

“We’ve got three massive games coming up.”

Weymouth next play Eastleigh today (3pm).
