WEYMOUTH welcome Notts County in what boss Brian Stock describes as a “milestone” Vanarama National League contest at the Bob Lucas Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

Stock also stressed his utmost respect for the world’s oldest side – founded in 1862 – who were relegated from League Two in the 2018/19 campaign.

Neal Ardley’s Magpies have made a good start to the campaign, sitting seventh, but face a resurgent Weymouth side fresh from two straight victories.

Speaking to Echosport, Stock said: “They’re a huge club. They’ve got a lot of structure, a big budget and a lovely ground – I’ve played there myself – and they’ve got a lot of history.

“They’ll probably think they’ve got the structure to go back up into the league – and I think they do. They’ve got a good manager and they’re a strong outfit. This league is very, very tough.

“With recent results you can see a lot of teams can beat one another.

“We’ve got a lot of confidence behind us after the last two victories, so it should be a good game and one I think is another milestone for the club.”

Commenting on the Terras’ upturn in form, Stock added: “It’s mainly down to hard work, organisation and capitalising on opportunities. We’ve done that.

“Sometimes performances aren’t going to be what you want them to be.

“What I have seen is a resilience, determination and when you’re in the situation we’ve been in, getting points is the most important thing.

“I felt we’ve really done that and seen games out really well – something that had let us down this year.”

Weymouth have a fully fit squad with the exception of Josh Leslie-Smith, who will take part in light training as he continues his comeback from concussion.

The Terras are also close to sealing another attacking-minded signing.
