DORSET driver Dan Mackintosh has secured a top drive with Porsche Sprint Challenge champions In2Racing for 2021.

Mackintosh, from Rampisham near Dorchester, will race alongside the hugely popular British Touring Car Championship and British GT Championship.

The talented racer will have a wide audience, with ITV4’s coverage of the Porsche Visit Cayman Islands Sprint Challenge attracting two million viewers.

In2Racing won both the drivers’ and teams’ championships in 2020.

Testing for the 2021 season begins in the coming weeks at Silverstone and Donington Park.

Mackintosh will have full support from Porsche Cars GB with unrivalled access to a dedicated Porsche media team and promotional media coverage.

Still living in Dorset, Mackintosh is keen team up with sponsors who could take full advantage of the wealth of marketing prospects in the series to promote their businesses and chosen charity Dreamflight.

Mackintosh was recommended by his medical team to Dreamflight, a registered charity supporting children with serious illness by taking them on a holiday to Florida.

The trip rebuilds their confidence and helps kids understand that despite their limitations they can build and achieve remarkable things.

Mackintosh supports and promotes Dreamflight to help raise the funds they need to ensure other children can be given the opportunity of this life changing experience.

Behind the ambition to support Dreamflight is Mackintosh’s inspiring back story.

Aged seven, he started driving go-karts and achieved notable success but five years later was forced to stop racing on medical advice.

However, after a three-year battle and through total dedication, determination and belief he started racing again in 2019.

Having been hospitalised for much of the three years with a serious relapse of a chronic kidney disease he questioned his future.

But with support from Motorsport UK at their Driver Academy in Loughborough, Mackintosh has turned his career around.

He is predicted to progress rapidly through the Porsche pyramid in the next few years, which will give future valuable marketing opportunities to prospective sponsors.
