WEYMOUTH boss Brian Stock signalled his intention to “take the game” to Vanarama National League title chasers Torquay United at Plainmoor tomorrow (3pm).

Stock’s men pushed the Devon giants close in December, conceding a late goal to lose a 4-3 thriller at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Torquay, who were runaway leaders at the time, have since stuttered in form but showed signs of a return to their best when beating promotion hopefuls Wrexham 1-0 away on Monday.

Given the Terras occupy 20th, compared to the third-placed Gulls, Stock believes his side has it “all to gain” against Gary Johnson’s men.

He told Echosport: “When we look at the teams we’ve beaten in this league, the majority of them are all flying high.

“We go into another game where we’ve got nothing to lose and all to gain.

“We’re in a situation now with 11 games to go where we can take the game to Torquay and try and get three points.”

He added: “It’s a tough game. I remember when we played them early on in the season – we’re a different team (now).

“We need to start improving our away form. We’re going to find a very tough game with Torquay.

“For me, in the home game and to this day, they’re the best side I’ve seen this year.

“They’ve had a wobble over recent weeks but seem to be back on track now. They’re going to be a real force. Like every week, we need to be at our best.”

Brennan Camp (hamstring) is a “major doubt” and is recovering at parent club Bournemouth, while tests revealed Josh McQuoid’s ankle is not fractured, although he will miss tomorrow’s game.

Stock added: “Josh had some good news, the scans have come back and there’s no fracture – which at one point was a scare.

“That’s a really positive bit of news for the club and Josh personally.

“Brennan will still be a major doubt given he’s not had much contact time with us.

“Although Bournemouth are managing that, the consensus is that (Torquay) is probably a game too soon.”
