PORTLAND United’s season may have been curtailed due to Covid-19 but the Blues are pressing ahead with more ground improvements.
In April, Echosport reported on renovations to the main Butch Nash stand at the Camp & Satherley Stadium, plus work to install a metal staircase leading from the clubhouse bar.
Since then, reseeding work has been undertaken by football pitch specialists Southern Ground Care to prepare the playing surface for next season.
Meanwhile, the Blues are working with landowners near the stadium to boost training facilities.

Speaking to Echosport, chairman Matt Lucas said: “Plans are afoot and there’s work going on on the pitch behind the ground.
“The people who own that have been very promotive of the club using it. Work is being done so we can train on our own facilities there.
“There’s also plans with regards to the bar, so lots of exciting things going forward.
“We’re going to keep on going with the social media with Lin (McKechnie, committee member) and Justin Faulkner (reserves boss).
“The main stand is being done as well, that’s really positive, work’s still going on there.
“General maintenance work and a new staircase from the bar are still ongoing as well.
“We’re going to be announcing a date where supporters can along and look after housekeeping work around the ground just to keep up on things and engage the community.”
