SHAFTESBURY 4
WEYMOUTH 6
WEYMOUTH Women edged a 10-goal thriller with Shaftesbury 6-4 in new manager Tasha Sibley’s first game in charge.
Sibley provided the assist for sub Naomi Johnson to score the opener and created the second for Lucy Johnson.
But Shaftesbury’s Ali Scott-Sheppard notched a quick brace for 2-2 at half-time.
In the second half a Roberts free-kick made it 3-2 before Scott-Sheppard bagged her hat-trick.
From the restart, Lily Beasley was hauled down in the area for a penalty, converted by Roberts for her treble.
Shaftesbury hauled themselves level when Nikki Castle fired home for 4-4.
Weymouth would not relent though as Roberts tucked away her fourth goal and Sibley recorded a third assist, this time for Beasley to score the game’s 10th goal late on.
Terras: Osment, Wootton, Potter, de Havilland, Cimon Barnard-Irons, Sibley, Wilson, B Barnard-Irons, Beasley, Howard, Roberts. Subs: Johnson, Hoare, Whelton-Legg.
