FORMER Portland United chairman Robin Satherley has accepted an ambassadorial role at the Blues.
Satherley retired from chairman duties last year and was replaced by Matt Lucas, who had five years as chief at Dorchester from 2014.
Speaking to Echosport, Lucas said: “He puts his life and soul into the club and has done for years and years.
“The committee had decided we would like to bestow on him that role. He’s duly accepted that and is honoured.
“That was an important thing for me personally. I’m very lucky to have people like Robin and Dave Camp, as president, for me to ring and talk to.
“They’re such a wealth of knowledge and I’d be daft not to tap into that.
“I’m really pleased he’s going to take on that role. It’s an honour for us.”

In a further statement, Lucas added: “I truly believe that the future of Portland United is bright and exciting, especially with the addition of the new under-18 team; a very clear pathway of player development and a real willingness for us, as a club, to engage with the whole of the community.”
