CHICKERELL United suffered a 7-2 thrashing against Sturminster Marshall in the Dorset Senior League Cup final at Milborne St Andrew.
Shaun Murphy’s Chickens had beaten Broadstone 3-2 to reach the final but trailed by the same scoreline at half-time of the showpiece event.
Matt Harvey and Nick Etherington got on the scoresheet, but Marshall edged ahead thanks to Jordan Fisk, Luke Goddard and Mark Claremont goals.
On a warm day, the Chickens were roasted in the second half with four unanswered goals as Claremont completed a hat-trick, adding to Fisk and Will Gage strikes.

In the Dorset League Division One Cup final, Bournemouth Sports Reserves beat Swanage Reserves 2-1 after extra-time.
Sports sustained three injuries in the first half and a dislocated shoulder to one player in extra-time caused the play to be moved to another pitch.
