DORCHESTER Town will face a new team in the Southern League Premier South next season.

Kings Langley applied to sidestep from the Southern League Central tier and league officials have today approved their motion.

Lango cited travel distance and times as reasoning for the switch.

It means Dorchester will be one of 22 teams in their division at Step 3 of the non-League pyramid.

In a statement, the Southern League said: "It is possible for the league to make a lateral movement within its divisions at the same step and after taking into consideration the travel distances and times, together with the fact that Premier Division South would have been operating with 21 clubs, the league’s board agreed to this request."

Dorchester's league season is due to begin on Saturday, August 14.

Meanwhile, former Dorchester loanee Tom Bearwish has been released by National League club Eastleigh.
