DORCHESTER Town have secured the services of midfielder Harry Burns on a permanent deal.

Burns, who was released by Weymouth at the end of 2020/21, played five times for the Magpies on loan last season.

He also netted one goal for Dorchester during the 3-2 FA Trophy loss to Swindon Supermarine in December.

Burns on Saturday started as Dorchester got their pre-season campaign up and running with a 1-1 draw against Wessex League side Hamworthy United.

He becomes the 11th summer signing for the Magpies and third new permanent player after Tom Purrington and Tom Soares.

Burns and Soares could be two of four new signings this week, with boss Robbie Herrera in talks with a midfielder and one loan target.
