DORCHESTER TOWN U23s 9
SALISBURY U23s 2
DORCHESTER Town Under-23s were on cloud nine after a 9-2 thrashing of Salisbury at the Avenue Stadium.
There was no sign of the goal feast to come during an evenly contested first quarter of the game.
Dorchester opening the scoring on 13 minutes when Ashley Guppy hit the bar, allowing Reuben Smith to bury the rebound and Brin Doyle almost made it 2-0 a minute later, his shot cannoning off the bar.
Salisbury were level midway through the half when their striker slammed home from 18 yards.
Ben Hughes scored a similar goal for 2-1 and Smith scored either side of half-time to complete his hat-trick.
Charlie Moors grabbed Dorchester’s fifth before Joel Hewitt notched a clinical double for 7-1.
Hughes added an eighth with 10 minutes to go but Salisbury hit back when their sub winger cut in from the left and lashed home.
And it was left to Hewitt to notch his hat-trick from livewire Doyle’s cross to complete a superb friendly outing for the Magpies.
