DORCHESTER Town boss Robbie Herrera is content with the players he has at the Avenue Stadium as the new league season looms.

Herrera is in talks to bring goalkeeping, forward and defensive signings to the club before the first league game against Beaconsfield on Saturday, August 14.

However, should the Magpies’ manager not find the right players, he told Echosport: “I’ve got no hesitation in going into the season with the group of players I’ve got.

“We’re in a better place than what we were. If I can add a couple of bodies – fantastic.

“But if we have the group I’ve got at the moment, I’m happy going into the season should it happen.”

That would mean a continuation up top for winger Sam Bayston, who has bagged five goals in pre-season.

“Sam’s worked hard, he’s quite a clever player,” Herrera said.

“He understands the game and he reads it quite well. He’s got his goals, he’s done well and hopefully it continues.”
