“I SCORE goals” was the simple yet effective message from new Dorchester Town striker Rudy Plummer.

The 28-year-old signed from Dorchester’s Southern League Premier South rivals Chesham United a matter of hours before making his Magpies debut in the 1-0 loss to Weston.

Plummer has played for a number of clubs including Gosport, Andover Town, Moneyfields, Whitchurch, Brockenhurst and won the 2019 Wessex League title at Blackfield & Langley.

He scored over 70 goals in his two seasons at the Watersiders and promised to find the back of the net at Dorchester.

“I score goals, the facts speak for themselves,” he told Echosport.

“In the team, they need that outlet and I suit the way they play so I think I’ll score goals for this team.”

On his debut, he added: “It was good, exciting, the fans were there as well and the I heard my name in the crowd so it was overwhelming to be honest.

“Dorchester’s a big club in itself with the fan base. Rob (Herrera, manager) put in a seven-day (approach) for me and I spoke to him for a couple of days.

“Chesham didn’t want to waive it because they wanted to speak to me. But I spoke to Rob and it was a no-brainer from there.”
