HARROW BOROUGH 2

Taylor 35, Moore 46

DORCHESTER TOWN 0

DORCHESTER Town were sent to a sixth defeat of the season as Harrow Borough claimed a 2-0 victory at Earlsmead Stadium.

James Taylor and George Moore scored either side of half-time for Boro, who escaped when Dorchester's Kieran Phillips saw a penalty saved by Josh Strizovic.

Dorchester could not find a way through for the remainder as boss Robbie Herrera was left to ponder another unrewarded performance.

Unfortunately for the Magpies, the result hid an encouraging template of dominating possession for large spells with crisp passing moves.

However, the obstacle to Dorchester’s plans this season has been the failure to capitalise on their good play – and so it proved once more.

Christos Papakonstantinou sent in a dangerous cross that Strizovic did well to claim in the 14th minute.

Strizovic was also well-placed to pounce at the feet of Plummer, who attempted to latch onto a clever ball from Tom Purrington.

The Magpies then suffered a blow when captain Ash Wells overstretched in a recovery tackle, sustaining a hamstring issue.

He was substituted for Oakley Hanger but seconds later, for all Dorchester’s good play in the opening half an hour, Harrow were the ones to make the breakthrough.

It came when Taylor nipped in front of his man and beat away keeper Gerard Benfield to a corner, nodding home for 1-0.

Worse followed for Dorchester when Tiago Sa took a knock to the side of his head when Benfield dealt with a pass in assertive fashion.

Sa was consequently forced off for under-23 star George Calverley five minutes before half-time.

With Dorchester unlucky to go into the break one goal down, the Magpies were the makers of their own downfall – seconds after the restart.

Moore homed in on a loose pass across the back and punished the Magpies with a calm finish.

Dorchester were handed a route back into the game when Strizovic brought the pacy Plummer down for a penalty on the hour.

However, Phillips, who scored twice on his debut for Dorchester against Walton Casuals, saw his effort saved by the Boro custodian.

As Dorchester chased the game, Benfield was forced into two good saves as Harrow broke on the counter.

However, the Magpies did not test Strizovic sufficiently in the closing stages, defeat dropping the county town side to 19th in the table ahead of a trip to Truro on Tuesday.
