WEYMOUTH boss Brian Stock has revealed he has been scouting the player market ahead of the huge FA Cup fourth qualifying round clash with Yeovil Town today (3pm).

Stock has for a number of weeks publicly suggested he could look to secure loans in a variety of positions.

However, the Terras’ interest in new arrivals is understood to be growing, which could potentially lead to player exits in order to balance the books.

Weymouth currently have a 20-man squad to pick from and are yet to sign a loan player this season.

Clubs can select a maximum of five loanees every matchday under National League rules.

Speaking to Echosport, Stock revealed the Terras are “actively” looking at fresh signings.

He said: “It’s a tough one because I do think the players in the squad have that (good) attitude and quality.

“Sometimes a fresh face is good for the group, regardless of whatever position comes in.

“We’re actively looking to try and improve the squad all the time and this week leading up to the game is no different.

“If we find a player we think can benefit our squad, we’ll take action on that.”

Elsewhere, Weymouth Under-23s lost 4-2 to Poole Town Under-23s in midweek.

The Terras still remain top ahead of the Dolphins, despite having lost their unbeaten record in the Hampshire Combination & Development League. Weymouth host Bemerton on Wednesday (7.45pm).
