DORCHESTER will look to follow up their big victory over Avonvale last Saturday as they visit Combe Down in Bath for their next Tribute Southern Counties South clash tomorrow (2.30pm).

Head coach Josh Ovey has been given a few headaches with selection due to injuries, availability issues, work commitments and players heading to Twickenham to watch England play.

With the injury list rising, Liam Moss, Joe Underhill, Callum King and the club’s record try-scorer James Baker are all out, giving Jamie Morgan a run out at centre.

George Foot moves to fly-half and last week’s impressive debut from the bench sees Jack Hayward starting on the wing. Louis Allan starts at full-back whilst the growing second-row partnership of Adam Makepeace and Brad Mullins continues.

Ovey knows this will be a stiff test for his side, both clubs have the same points tally and very similar records.

The importance of keeping up the momentum that is building and stability in his team is something he is keen to point out.

With a rest week next week, then a home game against second-from-bottom side Corsham before they visit the league leaders Devizes at the end of the month, Ovey wants to see the league points tally increase.

The county town’s A XV travel to Ellingham and Ringwood for another tough local clash in the Tribute Dorset & Wilts Two South table. Dorchester sit second in the table just above their opponents.

Barney Jones and Warren Harding will look to take their fine run of form into the game and Matt Fry’s side aim to bring the victory back to Surcouf Park. Kick off at Parsonage Barn Lane is 2.30pm.

Tonight the club holds its annual Family Firework Spectacular, supported by Nutley Farm Christmas Lights and Reindeer Experience.

The evening offers much for all the family with food and drink available on site. Gates open at 6pm for fireworks at 7.30pm.

On Sunday Dorchester’s burgeoning youth section take centre stage with the under-13s welcoming Yeovil and the under-16s locking horns with Frome in a Dorset & Wilts cup fixture.

From noon the girls’ cluster will be in action with Bournemouth, Sherborne and Wimborne whilst the Colts take to the park at 1pm against Swanage & Wareham.
