SHAFTESBURY TOWN RESERVES 3

BALTI SPORTS 1

BALTI Sports led early before being turned over 3-1 by Shaftesbury Town Reserves in their Jewson Dorset Premier League clash at Cockrams.

Balti were fresh off a confidence-inspiring 1-0 win at Holt and again took the lead in this game as Danny Andrews side-footed home from a dropped cross.

Balti then committed a defensive mistake of their own, hesitating under a Taisiah Moss lobbed cross, enabling George Coleman to head home.

Highly-rated teenager Moss then scored what could be one of the goals of the season after the break, planting a crisp lob into the top corner from 40 yards.

Ollie Mayo rounded off the scoring 10 minutes from time as Balti tired on the artificial surface.

Balti boss Marco Nott said: “They had some really good talent, they’re all young and very well drilled. They move the ball around well.

“That pitch is perfect to how they play. It’s good to see a young team playing good football.

“You can’t knock them. They scored a hell of a goal to make it 2-1. They’ve got a bit of confidence about them and the setup there is really nice.”

Balti now travel to newly-promoted Poole Borough tomorrow (2pm).

Nott added: “We’re not in a bad place in terms of performances. It should be a high-scoring game.

“We’re going to go out on the attack, try and get some early goals. It’s our third away game in seven days, so it’s going to be tough.”

Balti are without Ethan Devaney and Matt Brisco could play for Chickerell. Che Curran, Dylan Riley, Sammy Nichols and Phil Anderson are expected to return.
