HAYES & YEADING UNITED 3

Emmanuel 10 pen, Amartey 36, 88

DORCHESTER TOWN 0

DORCHESTER Town sustained a 3-0 defeat as Hayes & Yeading continued their Pitching In Southern League Premier South title push in style.

Two goals in the first half left Dorchester with a mountain to climb as Moses Emmanuel converted a penalty and Francis Amartey clinically finished a clean through chance.

Dorchester were restricted to minor chances and conceded a third two minutes from time as Amartey notched his brace.

Ash Wells then earned a second booking in stoppage-time to complete a miserable day for the Magpies, who also picked up injuries to Charlie Madden, Thiago Caze da Silva and Billy Lowes.

Hayes had smashed Wimborne 8-1 in midweek and were soon into their flow as Amos Nasha hit the bar before Wells was booked for a foul on Amartey in the box just 10 minutes in.

Top-scorer Emmanuel stepped up to increase his tally to 24 league goals this season, beating Jack Bycroft from the spot.

Hayes made it 2-0 when Omar Rowe’s through ball picked out Amartey, who was aided by the aggravation of da Silva’s knee injury in attempting to close him down.

Amartey was then able to cut back and fire beyond Bycroft for his 16th strike of the campaign.

Dorchester were restricted to two Olaf Koszela shots, which worked keeper Revan Constable into action without seriously troubling the stopper.

Charlie Gunson also tested Constable from the edge of the box, but Hayes’ goal remained intact.

Dorchester were hit by the loss of da Silva four minutes into the second half, the centre-back a replacement for Madden, whose groin injury resurfaced.

While the Magpies kept United at bay, there was precious little in terms of chances for the visitors, their afternoon soured further when Lowes went off with a dead leg.

Charlie Wassmer also had a shot blocked on the line for Hayes, who added gloss to the scoreline two minutes from time when Amartey fired into the left corner.

Wells then received a contentious second yellow for an aerial challenge – despite winning the ball and both players making contact with the other.

However, his dismissal did not alter the course of the game as the Magpies were second best on this occasion.

Dorchester return to action at home to Tiverton next Saturday (3pm).
