DORCHESTER Town's newest recruits Harvey-Joe Bertrand and Harry McGrath impressed the Magpies' management on their debut at Hartley Wintney.
Bertrand, who has worked with current Dorchester boss Glenn Howes at Blackfield & Langley, operated at centre-back in the 1-0 loss.
His positioning signalled a slight change from full-back, where Wood feels he is most effective, due to Dorchester's defensive injury list.
Forward McGrath also enjoyed a solid maiden game and was unfortunate not to win a penalty late on.

Speaking to Echosport, Dorchester assistant James Wood said of the duo: "Harvey did well coming in at centre-half.
"Possibly, full-back is his stronger position, but needs must. I thought he did well, so we're more than happy with Harvey's performance.
"Young Harry, we were pleased with his performance. He was full of endeavour, aggression and he showed some good quality.
"He's definitely a player we will work with and improve. For debutants, they've done really well."
