WEYMOUTH have appointed Tom Donati as their new assistant manager.

Donati is expected to be in the dugout alongside manager David Oldfield for Weymouth’s Vanarama National League clash at Stockport County this afternoon (3pm).

Donati comes across from Bournemouth, where he spent more than three years as under-15s boss.

His acquisition continues the strong ties between the two clubs over the past five seasons, first established with the appointment of Mark Molesley as manager in 2017.

Weymouth manager Oldfield has spent just over a month searching for his number two and has often been seen leading team warm-ups and warm-downs, with assistance from analyst Miles Kynigos and goalkeeping coach Jason Matthews.

Weymouth chairman Ian White said: "I would like to welcome Tom Donati to the club as David Oldfield’s assistant manager.

"It is great that David has now cemented in place his number two and all of us at the club are looking forward to a great partnership.”

Donati is a UEFA A license coach and has an extensive footballing CV having fulfilled head of academy coaching roles at Peterborough United and Cambridge United.
