WEYMOUTH chairman Ian White has confirmed the Terras did not pay any agent fees in a 12-month period spanning early 2021 to 2022.

Last week, 27 National League member clubs were listed as having paid out agent fees totalling in excess of £576,000 between February 2021 and January 31st this year.

Of those, current National League leaders Stockport County forked out more than £131,000 but Weymouth were not included on the list.

And White admitted the Terras managed to get by without utilising the expanding network of footballing agencies in non-League.

He told Echosport: “It’s quite new to us. When we were in the Southern League – and we didn’t spent long in the National League South – you don’t get many agents about.

“There have been agents but so far we haven’t had to pay fees at all.

“It’s just a part of the game that the club’s not had to deal with in the past.

“Over the last two years it’s something that’s popped its head up and is something we have to look out for.”
