DAVID Oldfield praised the Terras’ collective performance against a strong Grimsby Town side following Weymouth’s 0-0 draw with the Mariners.

The manager said: “It was a very difficult game against a great team, they are really well managed, they are a club that want to go places and are on a good run.

“From our point of view, it was very important that we managed to show that desire and willingness to work really hard and to put our bodies on the line and the players definitely did that, it was a big performance.”

On the defensive performance, Oldfield said: “The defence is all of us and we didn’t score again and again that is all of us.

"We have to take the positives out of it all and the boys showed that willingness and desire to put bodies on the line and close and to do those hard yards in wide areas.”

Oldfield added: “We had some chances towards the end and maybe we could have had something out of it but overall, it was a big point against a really good team.

“All we can do is our best and the boys showed that.

“We have to keep making sure that we are working our socks off just like we did.

"It’s an important moment but, it’s a draw, we have to do more and need to make sure that we are all going in the right direction, which (Saturday) was another good example that we are doing so.”
