WEYMOUTH dearly want to sign off their home Vanarama National League fixtures with a win against Barnet tomorrow (3pm).

David Oldfield’s men welcome the Bees to the Bob Lucas Stadium after picking up a creditable 1-1 draw at Southend United last time out.

Although Weymouth are relegated and already assured to finish in 22nd place, Oldfield believes the Terras have plenty to play for in their penultimate fixture of the season.

He told Echosport: “It’s our final home game of a difficult season.

“The supporters have been without doubt the main success, since I’ve been in certainly, with the support for the players and club – it’s been a really high standard.

“It’s an important game for many reasons, the most important being the integrity of the club and trying our best to look after the fans.”

He added: “All we want to do is work as hard as we can, drive ourselves forward.

“We’re working to deliver a positive result for ourselves and the club. We need to run, work as hard as we possibly can and try to fulfil our potential.

“As we’ve said many times, the group is capable but we haven’t been doing enough in games to get positive results.

“But there is another opportunity that comes for us and then the following (Sunday) will be equally as important.”

Skipper Josh McQuoid (shoulder) is facing a race against time to be fit, but Sean Shields, Brandon Goodship and Tom Blair are all in contention to return after missing the Southend draw.
