GOALKEEPER Ross Fitzsimons has announced his Weymouth exit after one season with the Terras.

Fitzsimons came to the Bob Lucas Stadium after spells with Notts County and Chesterfield and impressed in his 47-match stay.

He was on course to play every game of the season until missing Sunday's 2-1 win at Dover with a troublesome hip injury.

His absence enabled understudy Tommy Scott to make his debut.

Fitzsimons had earlier been named both the supporters' and players' player of the season.

Taking to Twitter, the shot-stopper said: "It's time to say goodbye to a good club with a heavy heart.

"I've loved my time here but unfortunately all things eventually must come to an end and that time has come for me.

"Thank you to everyone who was involved in (bringing) me to the club and putting their faith and believing in me all season.

"Thank you to the fans for singing my name all season and signing off as your player of the season is an achievement that means so much to me.

"I will always be looking out for you in the future and there's no doubt you'll be back where you belong in no time.

"Once a Terras, always a..."

Elsewhere, defender Ben Morgan posted a cryptic message on social media, saying: "Ready for the next challenge."

Morgan's future has not yet been confirmed by Weymouth.

The ex-Gloucester man has so far made 23 career appearances for the Terras but struggled with injury in the previous campaign.

Meanwhile, the Terras have announced season ticket and matchday prices for the 2022/23 season.

Early bird prices are £250 until Saturday, June 11 - reduction of £75 on last season - and £290 on general sale.

Concession early birds cost £165, or £195 on general sale.

Student and under-16 season tickets cost £75 and £50 respectively. Under-sevens face no charge.

Matchday tickets drop to £15 from £18, with concessions at £10, students at £7 and under-16s at £4. Under-sevens get in free.
