DORSET & WILTS 56
ESSEX 12
DORSET & WILTS took a resounding 56-12 win over Essex to seal second spot in Bill Beaumont County Championship Division Two Pool Two.
Despite winning and securing second, Dorset & Wilts could not trouble Somerset, who ran out as pool victors to progress to the next round with a 100 per cent record.
After just a quarter of the game at Bestwall, Dorset & Wilts were ahead and gone as Josh McCafferty bagged two tries, adding to Ash Taylor, Ed Crossley and Dan Hale scores. Mike Pope was flawless with his kicking, converting all five tries.

Essex did come back with two tries of their own as Alex James notched an unconverted score and the visitors grabbed a penalty try thanks to a deliberate knock-on from Hale.
Although Hale was sin-binned, the Twin Counties held firm and McCafferty clinched a deserved hat-trick before George Couch produced a magnificent solo try from inside his own half.
