WEYMOUTH director Mark Palmer has become co-owner of Gibraltar club St Joseph's as part of a takeover alongside ex-Burnley chief Mike Garlick.
Palmer, who was co-opted on to the Weymouth board of directors earlier this year, worked with Garlick on the sale of Burnley to ALK Capital and Alan Pace in late 2020.
Garlick will become St Joseph's new chairman and owner, with Palmer sitting as a director.
Echosport understands Palmer's involvement with St Joseph's is seen as beneficial to Weymouth, who could potentially learn from what is a professional club involved in European competition.
Palmer's status as director of two clubs in separate leagues is permitted under FA and UEFA rules.

Speaking to St Joseph's media team, Palmer stressed his desire to take the Gibraltarian side forward.
He said: "Like Mike, I feel it’s an absolute honour and privilege to be a part of a club with such tradition and history.
"Both Mike and I want to make a really positive impact into the club by adding in our knowledge, experience and network throughout the game and utilising that to take the club forward whilst still very much respecting the hard work that has been put in to take the club to where it currently is.
"I’m personally really excited to be involved in such a project and to be a part of taking the club into the next part of its journey."
St Joseph’s FC is pleased to announce their new owner and chairman is Mike Garlick.
