DORCHESTER Town will host North Leigh on the opening day of the 2022/23 Southern League Premier South season.

Glenn Howes' Magpies get their league campaign under way on Saturday, August 6 (3pm) and have six games in a busy opening month.

Dorchester travel to Truro City one week later before hosting Plymouth Parkway on Tuesday, August 16.

An away trip to Beaconsfield follows on Saturday, August 20 and a home clash with Hartley Wintney arrives seven days later.

Dorchester take the trip to Yate Town on Bank Holiday Monday, just 48 hours later.

Late September is also a hectic spell, with three games in eight days as Dorchester travel to promoted sides Hanwell Town and Bracknell Town either side of a home game with Tiverton.

Their next six fixtures feature three blocks of back-to-back home or away games, as consecutive home meetings with Weston and Hayes & Yeading begin the sequence.

Dorchester then travel to Gosport and the reprieved Merthyr, who stay up after Walton Casuals folded.

That double is followed by home games with Salisbury and Met Police.

In late November, Dorchester are on the road twice in five days courtesy of fixtures at Plymouth Parkway and Winchester City.

Dorchester's final match before Christmas is at home to Truro, and Howes will be reunited with former club Poole on Boxing Day at the Black Gold Stadium.

In their first contest of 2023, the Magpies are at home to Yate on Monday, January 2.

Hanwell and Bracknell provide the opposition for successive home games in mid-February.

Dorchester's run-in looks particularly difficult in the final five games, beginning with consecutive away tests at Salisbury and Chesham in early April.

Home battles with Poole and Hendon come next, and Dorchester's season ends on Saturday, April 22 at Met Police - barring any involvement in the play-offs or cups.
