WEYMOUTH manager David Oldfield revealed his no nonsense stance on player contracts this summer has had the full backing of the Terras’ hierarchy.

Oldfield has overseen a summer of change at the Bob Lucas Stadium, with 15 of last season’s squad exiting the Bob Lucas Stadium.

The former Oxford City boss also confirmed 13 signings before the third pre-season friendly at Poole Town.

Speaking to Weymouth’s media team, he said: “We’ve managed to get some players in, we’ll certainly get some more in over a period of time.

“I can’t guarantee when, but we are building for the first game of the season (at Tonbridge) and nothing before then.

“It is what it is and want to make clear that the chairman (Ian White) has been fantastic, and everybody behind the scenes have been really supportive of my decisions to change the squad.

“The responsibility lies with me, absolutely with me.”
