DORCHESTER Town first-team coach Brian Churchill believes a hat-trick of home wins would send out a message of intent to the Magpies’ Pitching In Southern League Premier South rivals.

Dorchester host 16th-placed Hartley Wintney at the Avenue Stadium tomorrow (3pm) having taken three victories in four games to earn fifth spot in the table.

Victory would give the Magpies a serious chance of bettering their start to the 2015/16 season, which yielded 13 points from seven games.

Churchill told Echosport: “It would be lovely. We’ve talked about it being vital that we win our home games and make it a difficult place to come, like other teams to do us.

“Three out of three would be fantastic. Nine points from nine at home, that’s what we’ll be going for. The support we’ve had continues to grow and long may that last.”

While Dorchester have enjoyed their most positive start for seven years, Churchill warned against getting carried away.

“That’s all it is at the moment, a decent start,” he added. “It’s something Dorchester haven’t been used to.

“We’re delighted how we’ve started and to get an away victory in amongst that was superb last week.

“Tomorrow’s going to be a difficult game. They’ve gone to Salisbury and won 3-1, so we’re well aware of their threat.

“We’ve got to be 100 per cent on it, as we have been so far. What has happened is that we’re a new team, everyone’s bought in to what we’re doing.

“The squad’s been rotated based on the opposition we’re playing and unity is strength.”

Alex Moyse (bruised shin) is expected to feature after escaping a heavy tackle at Beaconsfield unharmed.

Churchill added: “Surprisingly, Alex, who was subject to an awful tackle at Beaconsfield, he reported in for training on Tuesday with just bruising to the bone.

“He trained fine and other than that we’re good to go. The conversations we had all the way to Beaconsfield, it’s a difficult team to pick at the moment.

“It’s something we haven’t had previously. Any one of 16 players can start, that’s the beauty of it and we get a response off the bench when we need one.”

Elsewhere, Dorchester Town Under-23s began their season with a 2-0 victory against Millbrook.

Goals from Ben Symes and Sam Gadsby helped gave the Magpies all three points.
