DAVID Oldfield revealed Weymouth have held squad talks to address the team’s poor start to the Vanarama National League South season.

After relegation from the Vanarama National League, Weymouth have struggled to convert chances and look vulnerable in defence having suffered four straight losses.

The Terras currently sit bottom of the league and only Burton Albion (14) have conceded more league goals than Weymouth’s total of 12 so far this campaign.

Ahead of this afternoon’s home game with Oxford City – Oldfield’s previous club – the former Manchester City midfielder is focused on turning results around.

Asked what he had said to the squad after last Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Chelmsford, Oldfield said: “We’ve spoken at length on the issue and one or two areas where we need to do better.

“That’s always the case. Whether you win or lose, there’s always things to work on.

“We have been in the game in the matches we’ve had, to a large degree. We need to maintain our belief, stay together, and keep working hard.

“It will come and it’s a case of us all redoubling our efforts, staying together and working as hard as we can.”

Following today’s clash with the Hoops (3pm), Weymouth travel to Hungerford Town on Bank Holiday Monday (3pm).
