SWINDON SUPERMARINE 3

DORCHESTER TOWN 2

Gwengwe 37, Gunson 49

DORCHESTER Town suffered only their second defeat of the season as Swindon Supermarine came from behind to win 3-2 in a Wiltshire thriller.

The Magpies went behind to Harry Williams' sixth-minute strike but then moved 2-1 up with goals either side of half-time from Shaq Gwengwe and Charlie Gunson.

Harry Lee saved James Harding's penalty but the forward hit back with two goals in three minutes to wrestle the victory away from Dorchester's clutches.

Dorchester boss Glenn Howes made four changes to the side that began the 1-0 FA Cup first qualifying round win over Wimborne.

Tiago Sa, Ollie Griggs and Matty Neale dropped to the bench, while there was no place in the squad for Alfie Stanley.

Dorchester had not conceded on their travels for more than three games, but Supermarine ended that 292-minute spell in just the sixth minute.

Their breakthrough came through the league’s leading scorer Harry Williams, who fired a cracker past Lee from just outside the area to notch the tenth goal of an impressive season.

Dorchester, in typical fashion this season, displayed their fighting qualities as Olly Balmer struck a free-kick wide.

Dorchester enjoyed plenty of possession after the goal but were met by a resolute home defence, both sides trading shots over the bar with chances at a premium.

Henry Spalding forced Lee into a good low stop but Dorchester had the equaliser their play deserved when Gwengwe raced onto a through ball and lethally finished past home keeper Connor Johns.

Gwengwe’s fourth goal of the season made him Dorchester’s top scorer to date but his strike was nearly wiped out when Williams beat Lee with a delicious lob that crashed against the bar.

Marine ended the half the stronger when Lee was forced to keep out Leon Morrison’s header, but the Magpies were ahead after the break.

Gunson was the man to get the goal, lashing home a crisp finish past Johns at the near post to score his maiden Dorchester strike.

Supermarine began to commit numbers forward as Williams prodded at Lee before Harding was tripped in the box, leading to a penalty on the hour.

Lee was Dorchester’s saviour, though, as the 17-year-old kept out Harding’s spot-kick to spark wild celebrations in the away dugout.

However, ten minutes later Supermarine struck the equaliser as Harding put Lee’s save behind him with a brave header on the rebound after Zack Kotwica was denied by Lee.

And Supermarine turned the game on its head for the second time when Harding beat Lee with a beauty into the top corner.

Dorchester had 17 minutes, plus six added, to rescue an equaliser, but could not find a solution as Supermarine closed out victory.

The result pushed Dorchester down to seventh, while Supermarine climbed to fourth.
