DORCHESTER Town have been knocked out of the FA Cup, going down 1-0 at Swindon Supermarine.

Glenn Howes made two changes to his side for the trip to Wiltshire, with Harvey-Joe Bertrand and Tiago Sa coming in to start, in place of Callum Buckley and Keith Emmerson.

And Bertrand carved out an early chance for Olly Balmer, who headed wide. Swindon then struck the crossbar through Conor McDonagh, before Henry Spalding broke the deadlock just past the half-hour mark, firing in off the post.

Dorchester piled on the pressure after the restart with Shaquille Gwengwe twice going close, before Supermarine wasted a golden chance to double their tally.

Goalkeeper Harry Lee was the hero, thwarting a penalty from McDonagh, which was awarded after Ty Duffus was brought down in the box.

But it came in vain as hosts Swindon closed out the narrow victory, despite Charlie Gunson going close to an equaliser late on.

Supermarine take their place in Tuesday’s third qualifying round draw.
