DORCHESTER TOWN U23S 3

WEYMOUTH U23S 2

MARCUS Smith scored a stoppage-time penalty winner for Dorchester Town Under-23s as they overcame rivals Weymouth Under-23s 3-2 at the Avenue Stadium.

Smith has been in tremendous goalscoring form of late and came into the game having blasted two consecutive hat-tricks for the Magpies.

Weymouth's Matty Burrows had also netted two trebles in under-23s football this season and the winger struck first for the Terras in the 12th minute.

Taking aim from a free-kick, Burrows had Magpies' keeper Harry Dillon scrambling and the shot-stopper could only parry his effort in off the post.

Dorchester came back into the game strongly with Remus Nixon and Bosley Yu both forcing saves from Harrison Bruton.

And the Magpies drew level on 41 minutes as Jack Delves curled a free-kick into the bottom corner beyond Bruton.

Their parity lasted only four minutes as Elliot Rossiter outpaced the Dorchester defence before slotting past Dillon for a 2-1 half-time lead.

Dillon had to be alert in the second half to prevent Weymouth going 3-1 up but with 19 minutes to go Dorchester levelled again as Kriss Radivojsa swept a Delves free-kick past Bruton.

Late drama ensued as Radivojsa saw a goal chalked out for a foul on Bruton, before Dorchester won a stoppage-time penalty.

Smith stepped up and aimed for the bottom-left corner, Bruton getting a firm hand to it only to see the ball ripple the net.
