CORFE CRUSADERS 48

NEW BODY FITNESS 22

CORFE Crusaders took a convincing 48-22 victory over New Body Fitness in the South & West Dorset League Premier Division.

Despite New Body taking early advantage of errors from Corfe’s attack, the first quarter remained close, with only one goal separating the teams going into quarter time.

Corfe then took charge of the second quarter. They were fast off the mark with accurate passing and strong intercepts from C Sammy Whisker.

While New Body fought hard to stay in the game, they struggled to convert their possession into goals, meaning Corfe went into half time with a 12-goal lead.

It was a frenzied start to the second half from both sides, with stray passes and errors across the court.

Corfe maintained their lead, but New Body’s half-time changes meant they had a much-improved third quarter.

In the final quarter, Corfe’s defenders GK Laura Pearson and GD Marceline Pryzbrysz made it increasingly difficult for New Body’s shooters to find space and picked up several rebounds.

New Body’s mid-courters Ellen Surtees and WA Kirsty Winning continued to use their speed to find space and support their shooters, but it was not enough to close the gap.

FIRST FIT WINDOWS 17

WARMER HOME IMPROVEMENTS A 46

THERE was also a straightforward win for Warmer Home Improvements A, beating First Fit Windows 46-17 in Division One.

Warmer A showed their strengths in the first quarter, with GS Sam Rees dominating the scoring, and sending her team soaring into the lead.

First Fit’s defence stepped up, however, in the second quarter, while their GS Jessica Pym rewarded their hard work with some goals of her own.

As the mid-court from both sides worked hard and accurately worked the ball through court, it was Warmer A’s shooting which saw them continue to build on their lead, with GA Linzi Gardener now coming into her own too.

Although First Fit battled hard throughout the game, Warmer A played well and kept the upper hand to take the win.

WARMER HOME IMPROVEMENTS B 33

WJNC WAVES 27

ONE of the closer games of the night from Division Two saw Warmer B use their experience from last season to take a 33-27 win over newcomers WJNC Waves.

Despite some strong defence from Warmer B, Waves used fast play in the first quarter to take a small one-goal lead into quarter time.

Warmer B, however, then settled into their rhythm, and began working as team to take the lead back in the second quarter.

There was some dominant play from Warmer B’s attack, particularly WA Chloe Gloves and GS Sophie Macnaughton, in the third quarter.

Although, Waves showed great determination and kept the score close. Warmer B then dominated the final quarter, to take the win in this close, exciting game.

DREAM DIGITAL 10

WJNC WILDCATS 58

WJNC Wildcats did what their clubmates could not and claimed victory, defeating Dream Digital 58-10 in Division Two.

Wildcats started strong, with WD Brooke Batchelor reading play well to make useful interceptions.

Dream’s defence put the pressure on, but Wildcats were able to work through this to build an early lead in the first quarter.

Dream were forced to make a defensive change during the second quarter, after an injury to their GD, which allowed Wildcats to extend their lead, meaning they were comfortable ahead at half-time.

Dream made further changes during the half-time break, which set them up for their best quarter.

They created more attacking opportunities and slowed Wildcats' momentum going into the final quarter.

Wildcats continued to demonstrate their skill, with quick ball movement and accurate shooting, which resulted in them taking a good win, despite facing a spirited and determined Dream side.
