NOA Boutin and Dan Gifford have both returned to their parent clubs, Weymouth boss Bobby Wilkinson has confirmed.

Boutin, 19, played just nine games since joining under previous boss David Oldfield.

Gifford, 18, returns to Portsmouth having failed to score or assist in ten appearances.

Gifford was a highly-prized signature this summer and scored the winner in the 1-0 friendly win over Dorchester as a trialist.

Oldfield then beat a number of clubs to secure his services, although the talented striker was used inconsistently, racking up just 395 minutes of game time.

Boutin has made a greater impact at the Terras, his driving runs from left-back being a feature of Weymouth's better performances this season.

However, he has failed to sufficiently impress Wilkinson to stay at the club.

Speaking to Echosport, Wilkinson said of Boutin: "I've sent Noa back to Bournemouth.

"He's a good little player, it was just time for him to go back."

On Gifford, he added: "I've sent Dan back to Portsmouth. His loan deal expired on Monday I didn't renew it.

"He's a promising striker with so much ability. The problem is we're in a dog fight at the moment.

"We're trying to go with a little bit more experience. He's been a credit to work with and I wish him every bit of luck on his journey."

Meanwhile, Weymouth are understood to be in talks with two potential signings.
