DORCHESTER TOWN 1

Koszela 86

HAYES & YEADING 3

Jalloh 11, 38, Wishart 80

DORCHESTER Town suffered back-to-back league defeats at the Avenue Stadium as visitors Hayes & Yeading comfortably won 3-1 to leapfrog their hosts in the Pitching In Southern League Premier South table.

The Middlesex side now occupy eighth with the Magpies two places and two points beneath them.

Dorchester boss Glenn Howes made four changes to his starting line-up following the 3-0 midweek defeat against Weston-super-Mare.

Goalkeeper Harry Lee replaced Brad Snelling who played for Brockenhurst under his dual registration arrangement.

Olly Balmer, Keith Emmerson and Matt Neale returned to the starting line-up replacing Harvey-Joe Bertrand, suspended for one match having been red-carded at Plymouth Parkway.

Alex Moyse and Alfie Stanley also dropped to the four-man bench where they were joined by Mike Lilley and Lewis Toms.

A handball by Alfie Williams trying to cut out a cross from Jordi Foot presented the Magpies with an early chance but Balmer’s free-kick was cleared at the far post.

A minute later a poor clearance from Lee gifted Hayes & Yeading an even better chance. A surprised Adam Liddle rolled a pass to the incoming Moses Emmanuel who snatched at the chance and dragged his shot well wide of the far post.

A flowing move involving Hassan Jalloh, Liddle and Amos Nashua Junior culminated in the latter’s shot being pushed aside by Lee while a follow-up effort from Williams was saved on his line by the young Dorchester keeper.

At the other end, Neale set up Olaf Koszela who burst through but could only hit the side-netting from six yards.

However, the visitors took the lead after 11 minutes when Dan Wishart’s cross from the left was met by Jalloh whose shot seemed to lack power and looked an easy gather for Lee but somehow the ball squirmed through his hands and legs and into the back of the net.

Dorchester’s problems mounted moments later when central defender Louie Slough collided with the pitchside advertising hoardings, sustaining an arm injury and was replaced by Moyse.

Paul Field then charged through for the visitors but his effort was blocked while Koszela was unable to take advantage of a through ball from Balmer before the chance was snuffed out.

Hayes came close when a cross from Emmanuel found Jalloh whose near-post attempt cleared the crossbar.

Moyse’s foul on Liddle conceded a free-kick but when this was delivered, he fluffed his shot.

Emmanuel’s trip on Koszela gave the Magpies an opportunity but Koszela drilled his free-kick straight at Rhys Byrne in the visitors’ goal. Following a foul by Williams on Moyse, a cross from Koszela was nodded over by Charlie Gunson.

Patient build-up from the Middlesex side saw a cross from Williams headed inches over by Liddle.

Balmer’s 35-yard free-kick proved an easy gather for Byrne before an unfortunate deflection enabled Jalloh to race clear and double his tally with a low, angled drive seven minutes from the break.

Reece Cole then tried his luck from the halfway line but his cheeky effort dropped just wide.

Emmerson later conceded a free-kick which was taken by Cole from 30 yards and held on his line by Lee.

Nearing half-time, a jinking run and cross from Jordan Ngalo required a parried save while another fumble from Lee nearly let in Liddle.

The last chance of a lively first half fell to Dorchester but from Balmer’s lay-off Koszela fired over from 18 yards.

Emmanuel sent an early second-half attempt wide and had two efforts scooped up by Lee while Jalloh’s cross was cleared by Emmerson.

A quick shot from Nasha Junior was tipped over by Lee while Neale had an effort blocked and Byrne stuck out a foot to prevent Ngalo pulling a goal back after another mazy run.

Gunson then saw a 35-yard free-kick attempt saved by Byrne while Emmerson did just enough to prevent Emmanuel taking advantage of an inviting Jalloh pass.

The task facing the Magpies worsened when Wishart was left in space to drill in a low shot from the left to add a third goal for Hayes & Yeading in the 80th minute.

Six minutes later, Koszela nodded in the rebound from close range after Emmerson met a left-wing Gunson corner and crashed a six-yard header against the crossbar.

But the visitors were in no mood to let their remaining two-goal cushion slip further and played out stoppage-time camped in the Magpies’ half.

Oluwasanmi Odelusi and Emmanuel both fired wide while Lee saved to deny substitute Bruno Borges Tavares and Liddle on a frustrating day for the hosts.
