WEYMOUTH’S first foray into the FA Cup main draw for 15 years ended with a deserved 1-1 draw against AFC Wimbledon.

FA Cup specialist Ahkeem Rose notched his third goal in the competition this season with a clever free-kick to cancel out Ayoub Assal’s early opener.

Rose’s goal capped off a concerted spell of Weymouth dominance that saw the Terras form wave after wave of attack, but which players stood out the most?

Echosport takes a look at the individual ratings in the Terras’ squad.

Zaki Oualah – goalkeeper – 6.5/10

HAD very little to do against his former club.

Left with no other option but to try and close Assal down for the first goal and had a nervy moment when the same player nearly caught him out shortly afterwards.

Otherwise, only had a free-kick to catch and an Assal charge-down to gather.

Teddy Howe – right-back – 8/10

ANOTHER outstanding display from a player who is quickly developing into Bobby Wilkinson’s best signing.

Howe could easily have scored in the first half following a mazy run and made countless tackles, including setting up numerous attacks down the right.

Unlucky not to claim an assist in the first half when his looping cross was sliced by Harry Kyprianou.

Harry Kyprianou – left-back – 8.5/10

ONE of Kyprianou’s best performances in a Weymouth shirt, if not the best.

The left-back grew into the game beautifully, ending it as one of Weymouth’s most potent attacking outlets.

Skewed that volley in the first half but otherwise did not put a foot wrong in either defence or attack.

Won several clever free-kicks, including the one that led to Rose’s goal.

Xander McBurnie – midfielder – 8/10

WEYMOUTH’S skipper beavered away in the home midfield doing a lot of the dirty work to help set up the Terras’ attacks.

Led by example with his work rate and even got in a shoving match with Wales international Chris Gunter, who quickly backed down.

We probably would too, Chris.

Dan Matsuzaka – centre-back – 6/10

DIFFICULT afternoon for the defender, making a bad error for the goal in allowing a long ball from Harry Pell to bounce and letting the speedy Assal to get a run on him.

Marshalled the defence well after that and earned a point or two back by testing away keeper Nikola Tzanev with a second-half header.

Nathan Carlyle – centre-back – 7/10

LOOKED assured on his return to the side following suspension.

Crucial intervention in the first half to stab clear a loose ball but will feel he should have at least got a shot on target in the second half with a clear opening.

Took a yellow for the team with three minutes to go, abruptly halting a Dons attack.

Keelan O’Connell – attacking midfielder – 9/10

LIKE Kyprianou, O’Connell grew into this game superbly.

Took a while to get going, with two poor free-kicks, but steadily began to show his class and menaced AFC Wimbledon throughout the second half.

Tested Tzanev with a header, and his corner in the first half led to what appeared a clear handball by Josh Davison.

Teed up Matsuzaka for his header and Carlyle for his chance, blazing over an opening of his own.

He then aimed a dipping shot at Tzanev in the 90th minute – doing everything but score on the day.

Tom Bearwish – midfielder – 8/10

SIMILARLY to McBurnie, did a brilliant job of breaking up play in the centre of the park.

Prior to the game was Weymouth’s joint second-highest scorer but his only real sight of goal came in the 92nd minute when a stinging volley was deflected through a crowded box for a corner.

On another day, it could’ve gone in as he struck it so sweetly.

Tom Blair – winger – 8/10

AFC Wimbledon could not handle his pace and power at times but although this was another dry game for Blair in terms of goals, the winger more than played his part.

Got stuck in to assist Howe on the right and did have a goal threat, curling a free-kick at Tzanev and hoisting another chance over the bar.

Brad Ash – striker – 8/10

DESERVES credit for standing up to the Dons’ towering centre-halves and was not afraid to put himself about.

Led the defence from the front and constantly robbed possession from an increasingly weary visiting back line.

Almost got a finishing touch to Howe’s shot in the first half and set up Rose for Weymouth’s first shot on target just before that.

Ahkeem Rose – forward – 9/10

WEYMOUTH’S main man for the FA Cup grabbed his third goal of the competition this season.

Could earlier have had a goal after Ash’s good work but took his next real chance with an intelligent free-kick, lashing home underneath the wall.

Picked up fantastic positions in attack and was unlucky to volley over from 20 yards in the second half.

Has an invaluable knack of scoring big goals for the club.

Cam Murray – midfielder – 6/10

ONLY had 12 minutes plus four added to make an impact after coming on for Rose.

Helped carry on the Jamaican’s good work but too brief of an appearance to properly judge him.
