WEYMOUTH Women captain Charlie Wilson believes the Vitality Women’s FA Cup first round tie with Keynsham Town is the club’s “biggest game since reforming”.

Wilson will lead the Terras out at the Bob Lucas Stadium tomorrow (1pm) against opponents ranked two divisions above them.

They qualified for the first round courtesy of a 2-0 win over higher-league Poole, benefitting from an abandonment due to a lightning storm when trailing in the initial tie.

The cup tie doubles as the reigning Dorset League champions’ first in the main draw since reforming in 2020.

And all those factors combined leave Wilson in no doubt as to the magnitude of the match.

She told Echosport: “It’s 100 per cent the biggest game since reforming. It’s the highest opposition we’ve faced.

“It’s one we’ve got to give ourselves if we want to progress any further in leagues or cups, we’ve got to test ourselves against these opponents.”

And Wilson believes the pressure is all on Keynsham coming into the game.

She said: “All the pressure is on them. We’ve done really well to get this far, already beating Poole who are a league above us.

“To then be drawn against Keynsham who are two leagues above us, the pressure is not on us at all – it’s all on them.

“That really works in our favour and we enjoy it more when the pressure’s not on us. You’ve got to back yourself.

“If we play anything like we did against Poole, I genuinely feel we can turn anyone over.”

Nia Bywater (head) has recovered but will miss the game as a precaution. Harriet Freeman (concussion) and Lily Beasley (knee) are ruled out.
