WEYMOUTH have released an update on the condition of winger Hari McCoy after his scary head injury last night.

McCoy sustained concussion after being hit on the side of the head by the ball.

He later collapsed and fell in and out of consciousness on the Bob Lucas Stadium pitch during the 4-3 win over Hamworthy United.

He was tended to by paramedics and taken to Dorset County Hospital by ambulance.

Play restarted after a 32-minute delay and after full-time it was revealed McCoy was conscious, talking and awaiting a CT scan in A&E.

And the winger has this morning reported an improvement in his condition.

In a club statement, Weymouth said: "Hari is feeling a bit better but still light-headed.

"His CT scan came back positive, with the hospital not reporting anything serious internally.

"He will need to monitor himself in the next 72 hours in case of nausea or other symptoms.

"Grade of concussion has not been disclosed as of yet."

McCoy is now expected to follow concussion protocols, keeping him out for three weeks.

It adds to Weymouth's growing injury and illness crisis, affecting more than half their squad.
