WEYMOUTH manager Bobby Wilkinson admitted his pride in the Terras’ performance at Dulwich Hamlet, despite losing 2-0 at Champion Hill.

Weymouth’s coach arrived more than one hour late before Tom Bearwish picked up two yellow cards in ten first-half minutes to put Weymouth on the back foot.

And the visitors went 1-0 down on 66 minutes to Johl Powell’s low effort, before ex-Weymouth striker Dan Smith rolled home an easy second three minutes from time.

Hamlet’s Quade Taylor had earlier hit the bar at 0-0, while Brad Ash spurned two excellent chances for Weymouth as their five-game unbeaten run came to a halt.

Speaking to Echosport, Wilkinson was critical of the match officials for Bearwish’s second yellow, given for a foul on Dulwich captain Frankie Raymond.

He said: “The referee got suckered in to it, that’s football.

“You’re away from home, the coach has turned up an hour and ten minutes late.

“We only had an eight-minute warm-up. That’s all it is, it’s not about the result or the sending off – it’s about my boys in the 93rd minute still running.

“Still working hard, still believing they can score two goals.

“I felt for Brad, he had two clear-cut chances. It’s frustrating all round, we just didn’t get a run of the green at times.”

Asked how big an impact the late coach arrival had, Wilkinson said: “The coach was late, it happens.

“I don’t really want to talk about it. What I want to talk about it is my boys running in the 93rd minute.

“My boys were colossal out there, dying for the badge. They couldn’t hardly run in the 90th minute. It’s all about my players working hard.”

Weymouth are next in action at home to Taunton Town on Boxing Day (3pm).
