Josh Ovey still has a number of players out injured, which gives his wider squad the opportunity to gain much-deserved game time.
Dorchester's pack looks a formidable one with both Tom and Jimmy Louch at the heart of tight five, Joe Underhill and Josh Ovey complete the front row whilst Alex Sharp completes the second row.
Luke Robson, Tom Gower and captain Steve Tucker make up the mobile back row, with Jack Hayward at scrum-half driving the pack on and ready to make the ball available quickly to his backs.
Callum King will lead the back line from fly-half with the free-scoring trio of Jack Adams, Cohen Emery, and Brook Legg full of confidence after two strong Dorset & Wilts performances ready to break the Clevedon line.
The ever-dependable Deklyn Bane and Kieran Fry complete the back line.
Ovey has the benefit of over 300 games experience from Dave Cottell on the bench, alongside two of last season’s colts Archie Dale and Slade Collins, the latter making his first-team squad debut.
Looking back over the season, chairman of the club’s playing committee, Tony O’Connell, reflected that this has been fantastic start on the journey of having a one-club identity.
He further commented that developing a pathway from under-sixes through to senior rugby for both boys and girls, improved integration, increased participation, heightened support for volunteers, along with a number of new faces joining the playing squad, has given the club added impetus leading to the successful season both on and off the pitch.
