BRIDPORT Town were well beaten at Bovey Tracey on Wednesday night, losing 4-0 at Mill Marsh Park.

The hosts took a 1-0 lead into the break through Simon Laughton, before a flurry of goals in the final 15 minutes, consisting of Ollie Aplin’s strike and Kelson Pollard’s brace, put the game beyond doubt.

It took 13 minutes for Bovey Tracey to take the lead, Laughton volleying home from a Lewis Perring cross.

Shortly after, Riley Weedon tested Bovey goalkeeper Dom Aplin with a long-range effort, the shot stopper holding well.

There was little goalmouth action for the rest of the first period, Bridport going into the break a goal behind.

That pattern continued into the second half, with Sol Ayunga brought down with a solid tackle by Dan Griffiths before he could pull the trigger.

As the game approached its conclusion, Bovey made sure of the result. Pollard set up Ollie Aplin to double his side’s lead, before getting in on the act himself.

Pollard bypassed the Bridport defence before blasting the third into the far corner.

The game was already won by the time Pollard had been felled in the area, the attacker dusting himself off before converting the resultant spot-kick.
