BOURNEMOUTH SPORTS 8

BRAVE eight-man Balti Sports conceded eight goals or more for the third time this season courtesy of an 8-0 defeat by Bournemouth Sports.

Balti’s Weymouth College home was once considered a fortress but here their eight players deserve a huge amount of credit after predictably being overrun by a side fighting for third position in the Jewson Dorset Premier League.

It was Balti’s second 8-0 home defeat this season after leaders Sturminster Newton first registered the scoreline in November.

Having also been docked six points for conceding a game at Westland, Balti now sit 15th as their miserable season continues.

Their latest loss was commenced in the tenth minute when Madison Wilkin swept home inside the box.

Bournemouth then added two goals in three minutes to lead 3-0 when Josh Moody’s powerful effort found the roof of the net before Matt Ellis bagged his maiden goal for the club with a low 20-yard drive.

Balti’s eight men did well to keep the scoreline at 3-0 going into the break but Moody made it 4-0 just ten minutes into the second period with a crisp finish.

Balti were then architects of their own downfall as a handball and foul in the box allowed Jack Voisey to score two penalties.

Balti defended doggedly and maintained the five-goal deficit until tiring late on as Jamie Trimble thundered in a header for 7-0 on 78 minutes.

Voisey chalked up his hat-trick with a header from Joe Cresdee’s cross to complete the scoring.

Balti host Westland Sports on Tuesday evening (6.30pm).
