MATTY Neale has exited Dorchester Town for Wimborne Town, following a single season at the Avenue Stadium.

Neale links up once more with manager Tim Sills, the duo having worked together in a highly successful spell at Hamworthy United.

Neale's move represents a drop of one division, although Wimborne are understood to have a healthy budget as they seek a return to the Southern Premier South.

Forward Neale leaves Dorchester having bagged five goals in 41 appearances.

Speaking to Wimborne's media team, ex-Weymouth, Torquay and Oxford United striker Sills said: “I am so happy to welcome Matty to Wimborne Town.

"As someone I have worked with before I know the quality and winning mentality he will bring to the group.

"It is another big statement that, after an impressive season in the league above, Matty has recognised the ambition of what we are working towards and can’t wait to be a focal part of it."

Neale joins Charlie Gunson in leaving Dorchester this week, although striker Harvey Bradbury already has a contract for 2023/24.
