DORCHESTER Town have confirmed the transfer of striker Harvey Bradbury to National League South side Dartford.

Bradbury, 24, scored five times for the Magpies in 16 games during the 2022/23 season and impressed enough to earn a contract for the 2023/24 campaign.

However, with Dorchester in mid-table obscurity he left for Dartford on loan before the end of the season, netting six goals in ten games.

He bagged in the Darts’ play-off semi-final defeat to St Albans, Saints later losing the final 4-0 to Oxford City.

Speaking to Dorchester’s media team, Magpies’ manager Howes said: “We’re disappointed to announce the departure of Harvey Bradbury, but we’re extremely pleased that’s he’s making a step up the ladder to the National League (South) with Dartford.

“Harvey made a tremendous impression in his short stay with The Magpies both on and off the pitch.

“We wish him and Dartford all the best and hopefully go one better this year with their promotion quest.”

Neither club has disclosed if a fee is due for the contracted Bradbury.

Bradbury was previously expected to return to Dorchester, Howes back in March refusing to rule out a transfer in a previous Echosport interview.

“If we feel it’s of benefit to the player and their development, we wouldn’t want to stand in their way,” he said.

“If Harvey, as expected, goes there and scores goals, that would be a discussion between the club, Harvey and Dartford.

“The lad has thoroughly enjoyed his time with Dorchester. We’ve provided him with a platform to get a smile back on his face.

“There’s no concern on our part. We need to do what’s best for the player and club.”

Bradbury is the third player confirmed to have departed the Avenue Stadium this summer after Charlie Gunson and Matty Neale.
