CENTRE-BACK Kieran Douglas has announced a switch from Dorchester Town to Bognor Regis Town.

The move represents a sidestep in divisions for Douglas, who will still compete at Step 3 level with the Sussex side in the Isthmian Premier League.

Douglas, who joined Dorchester from Winchester last summer, scored three times in 39 appearances for the Magpies.

He joins as part of a double signing by the Rocks, with Wessex Premier League winners Horndean also seeing midfielder Ben Anderson move to Nyewood Lane.

Bognor boss Robbie Blake told the Sussex Express: “We are really pleased to get both Ben and Kieran to put pen to paper and we look forward to them joining us for pre-season training and settling into the club.”

Announcing his move on social media, Douglas said: “Looking forward to a new challenge @rocks1883 buzzing to get going.”

And the Magpies paid tribute to the departed defender, adding: "We can confirm that Kieran Douglas has left the club and signed for Bognor Regis Town.

"We thank Kieran for his contribution over the last season and wish him well for the future."

Douglas is the fourth player to leave the Avenue Stadium this summer after Harvey Bradbury, Matty Neale and Charlie Gunson.
