DORCHESTER Town have pulled off a major signing with the addition of sought-after striker Olaf Koszela on a one-year deal, subject to FA approval.

Released from Torquay United after the conclusion of the National League season, Koszela had numerous clubs courting his services.

However, he has chosen the Magpies and links up with Dorchester for a fourth spell, this one permanent after three loan stints from the Gulls.

Koszela has 12 goals in 42 Dorchester appearances across his three terms, the last of which was cut short after a nasty ankle injury which required surgery.

Commenting on his first new recruit of the summer, manager Glenn Howes tipped Koszela to be a “big player” for the Magpies.

He said: “After having three successful loan spells from Torquay United it gives us great pleasure in announcing Olaf as one of our own.

“Olaf, along with Louie (Slough) and Alex (Moyse), have brought a huge amount of professionalism from Torquay which the team will embrace.

“Before Olaf’s season was cruelly brought to an end in December he was well amongst the goalscoring charts and will clearly be a big player for the season ahead.”

Koszela joins Jordan Ngalo, Harvey-Joe Bertrand, Jordi Foot, Louie Slough, Tiago Sa, Lewis Toms, Lewis Waterfield and Shaq Gwengwe in agreeing terms with Dorchester for 2023/24.

However, Kieran Douglas, Charlie Gunson, Matty Neale and Harvey Bradbury have left the Avenue already.
