DORCHESTER Town will begin their Southern League Premier South campaign away at Merthyr Town.

The full fixture list for the 2023-24 campaign was released today, with the Magpies heading to south Wales to kick things off on Saturday, August 5.

Dorchester won at 3-1 at Penydarren Park last season, with Louie Slough, Jordi Foot and Matty Neale all on target.

Dorchester’s first home game of the campaign will come the following weekend, with Harrow Borough visiting Dorset.

The first month also sees fixtures against Winchester City, Walton & Hersham and Chesham United, before rounding off August with a trip to neighbours Poole Town on bank holiday, Monday 28.

The festive fixtures see Glenn Howes’s side go to Chesham on Saturday, December 23, before welcoming Tom Killick’s Dolphins to The Avenue on Boxing Day.

Magpies will get 2024 underway with a trip to Tiverton Town on New Year’s Day, while three of five fixtures during the run-in are set to come at home.

During the Easter weekend, after going to Winchester on March 30, Dorchester are set to welcome Tiverton on Monday, April 1, before going to Hayes & Yeading United and then hosting Hanwell Town.

The final away game of the season is set to be at Basingstoke Town on April 20, before the regular campaign concludes at home against AFC Totton on Saturday, April 27.

Totton are new to the division this year, winning Southern League Division One South under Jimmy Ball last season.
