DORCHESTER Town will travel to Plymouth Parkway in the FA Cup first qualifying round next month.

Glenn Howes' Magpies are up against a familiar foe in Parkway, who are divisional rivals in the Pitching In Southern League Premier South.

Both sides have endured poor starts to the season, with Dorchester winless in four games and residing 18th.

Parkway, meanwhile, are bottom of the pile in 22nd having lost all four games and suffering a minus-12 goal difference.

The two sides have previous history in cup competitions, with Parkway knocking Dorchester out of the FA Trophy last season courtesy of a 2-0 win during the third qualifying round.

Last season, Dorchester were knocked out of the FA Cup at the second qualifying round stage following a 1-0 loss at Swindon Supermarine.

The Magpies last reached the main draw in the 2012/13 season, famously beating Plymouth 1-0 before losing 2-1 to Luton Town in the second round.

The closest they have come to the competition proper since then is the final qualifying round in 2014/15, when Bristol Rovers won 7-1 at the Avenue.

In 2023/24, all ties for the first qualifying round take place on the weekend of Saturday, September 2.

Winners pocket £2,250 and a place in the second qualifying round, the losers earning £750.
